The floating green-screen: Bullet-time files download

I’ve been getting requests for this for YEARS! For the past 7 years, so many artists asked me for bullet-time files for them to play with. As I only have clients work and artistic stuff with Kim, there’s nothing I wanted to share. But as I’m stuck at the studio during the lockdown, I started to produce more work by myself. The only draw back is that… I’M THE MODEL LOL. Yes, you are stuck with me. But if you’d like to give it a try, I’d be super happy to see what you can come up with my files.

This is an invitation call for 3d and VFX artists to play with my work! Mash it up, remix everything, put me in space, be creative with it! :)

I have 14 sets of 176 images available: 8 with a green screen, 5 with me doing nothing, and an empty one for easy background removal. I’m launching this under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. Files are provided in MP4 format at 4k resolution, 16:9 ratio.

A few additional random things

  • All of these shots were self triggered. You might notice my finger powerpoint-presenter. It was kind of challenging to trigger at the right moment and go under the green drape, but that was fun :)

  • Frame #90 had the wrong white-balance value. I simply duplicated frame #89. Sorry abou that!

  • The 14 sets are from a second session I did in late April. My first attempt on April 16th was much more punchy (see this example), but my ceiling light was too strong and this was making some parts of the green-screen become blowned with non recoverable highlights

  • You might notice that I used a slow shutter speed. This is to remove most of the shutter-induced flickering. At 1/60s, I’m at the sweet spot to get a decent image while getting minimal flickering. We still get some flickering caused by the angle of the light coming in the lenses, but this is less of an issue

I ended up giving it a try to do my own mashup, but as I’m a noob about 3d and visual effects, I simply did some hue shifts with my green-screen ;) Here’s the result
